Healthy Thalipeeth made from Banana Flour

 

    Banana Flour Thalipeeth 


Preparation Time : 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

 Banana Semolina/Sooji Thalipeeth is a healthy,tasty and nutritious breakfast/snack in Maharashtra.


Ingredients

250 gms Banana flour

1 tsp chilly powder

¼ tsp salt

1 tsp jeera powder 

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander/dhania

1 tsp jeera/cumin seeds

water

oil for greasing and cooking


Method

1) Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl,mix well and make a thick/loose dough using enough water.Apply oil on it and cover it with a lid and rest it for 10 minutes.

2)Heat a non-stick tava and grease it with oil.

3)Pour a little amount of dough on tava and pat it evenly to form a circle.Poke tiny 5-6 holes  using a fork/spoon.

4)Pour little oil in the above holes and sides of the thalipeeth and cook it on medium flame till it turns golden brown from both sides.

5) Serve the thalipeeth hot with curd/pickle/loni/thecha.


Tips and Variations

1)This recipe can be consumed as a fasting/upwas food if onion is omitted from the recipe.

2) You can add vegetables as per your choice lik spinach,methi,spring onion,cabbage,carrot to make it more nutritious and delicious.
