Banana Semolina/Sooji Cheese Balls is a quick,crispy and cheesy which make an awesome party snack. This recipe can be deep fried,shallow fried or baked. These cheesy bites are loved by all.
Ingredients
½ cup (50 gms) Banana Semolina/Sooji
1 mediumsize boiled mashed potato
grated carrot
sweet corn
green peas
finely chopped capsicum
finely chopped onion
ginger-garlic paste
green chilly paste
mixed herbs
chilly flakes
pepper powder
banana flour
bread crumbs for rolling
salt to taste
processed cheese cubes
Method
1)Mix ½ cup banana semolina/sooji with 1 cup hot water and keep
aside for 5 minutes.
2)Add all the mashed potato,carrot,corn,green
peas,onion,capsicum ,ginger-garlic paste,salt,mixed herbs,chilly flakes,chilly
paste,1 cube grated grated cheese and mix well in the above semolina.
3)Divide the above mixture into 10 equal portions.
4)Grease your hands with oil and shape each portion into a shape
of a ball.Press it between your palms to flatten it.Place a small cheese cube
piece at the center.(You can cut a cheese cube into 9 pieces).Wrap it from all
sides and give a shape of a ball again.
5)Dip each ball in banana flour/corn starch flour batter mixed
with salt and pepper.
6) Roll
each ball in bread crumbs and transfer into a plate.
7) Deep freeze these rolled balls for 10 minutes.
8) Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry on medium flame till golden brown from all sides. Transfer them on
a paper napkin.
9) Serve the hot cheese balls with tomato ketchup.
1) You can store the raw cheese balls in advance in a
ziplock bag in the freezer,up to a month.Fry them whenever required.
2) You can also shallow fry in a appam pan instead of deep
fry to reduce oil content.
3)Do not continuously stir the cheese balls while frying
otherwise the cheese oozes out.
Serving Suggestions
Cheese balls can be served as a party snack or appetizer. Serve
them with tomato ketchup, or coriander chutney or mint chutney.
